2018 MercedesTrophy Dealer Golf Day

22.03.2018

The annual Ingham-Sears MercedesTrophy Dealer Golf Day was hosted at the Mt Maunganui Golf Club on Friday 23 March 2018.
With a torrential downpour early in the morning right on starting time, this dampened the spirits of some of the players, but golfers being a hardy lot soldiered on and after about an hour the rain cleared and sun came out creating ideal conditions.
After 18 holes of competition, the scores were extremely close. The 2 eligible overall winners on the day were June Winstanley from the Mt Maunganui GC on 42 points and newcomer Grant Mullenger from Whangarei GC, on 39 points on countback from David Cho (Mt Maunganui GC).
June and Grant will represent Ingham-Sears at the MercedesTrophy New Zealand National Final at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, to be held 27 – 29 April 2018.
The Ingham-Sears Dealer tournament was noted for its success with three previous World Final representatives from Team New Zealand playing on the day – Stewart Browne (2016), Lyndsay Mulholland (2009), and Stuart Hale (2015).
